CityFALCON was created to help people access business and financial news and content with ease. Our company wouldn't be complete without the mobile platform, which offers just as much to the user as our desktop platform.
This a brief overview of what you'll find on the mobile platform. The links are mostly to other pages in the mobile section of the Knowledge Base, but some of them link to other parts of the Knowledge Base.
You might find the FAQs helpful too for more general questions. We also have sections for what we offer (including how our technologies work), various subscription plans, and our other platforms on desktop and on voice (Amazon Alexa, Google Home).
Watchlists
A main component of the CityFALCON experience, the Watchlist Tab is the first screen on the mobile app. You can track individual topics, topic classes (like people or stocks in general), and even full queries like apple AND samsung NOT patents. There are also filters to help weed out irrelevant content, and we continually improve your personalisation via your interactions.
Watchlists are entirely alterable, so if you don't like it the first time you create it, you can always change it.
Trending
Trending stories are topics those that our systems have noticed to be highly active recently, with a large number of publications mentioning them. They appear on their own dedicated Trending Tab. What content is delivered to you as trending is also subject to filters you set, so this section is also personalisable. We explain it a bit further on this page.
Filters
There are two types of filters at CityFALCON: Story Filters and Trending Filters. The former is applies to all places you can see content and is based on criteria like time period, language, type of publication, and the CityFALCON relevancy score. The latter only applies to the Trending Tab, and it is based on criteria like topic classes and the timeframe used to determine trending status.
Search
Search is available when adding topics to watchlists and as a standalone feature for one-time searches that you don't want to add to permanent add to a watchlist. You can access it by tapping the magnifying glass anywhere you see one.
We support both simple and complex queries, where complex ones use Boolean operators, parentheses for grouping, and quotes for exact phrasing. You can find more information about those here on this page.
As a quick example, you might want to search amazon OR microsoft OR ibm AND NOT (cloud or IaaS). More examples can be found on the actual search screen if you tap the question mark icon.
CF Academy
This is where you can find more information about all kinds of topics. We have starting out guides for those new to investing, and we periodically create in-depth articles on finance and economics for seasoned investors (or new investors who are interested!).
This section also provides a place for many videos discussing our services and some investment ideas. If you're interested in how we've been growing as a company, from the beginning as a tiny startup to this point, we have a section labelled The Startup Journey that explains just that.
